Traffic and Pedestrian Signals at O’Connor Drive
Williamson County is currently finalizing the design for three traffic signals on O’Connor Drive at Morgan Hill Trail, Great Oaks Drive and Liberty Walk. The County should be ready to hire a contractor in August. The mast arms for the signals will take five months to order, so installation is expected to begin in Spring of 2020. The lights could be operational as early as late Spring 2020. The traffic signals will include pedestrian push buttons and LED countdown displays to provide additional safety for pedestrians in the crosswalk.
“I know those who drive and walk along, or cross, O’Connor Drive have been waiting a long time for these lights. The County’s goal with these traffic signals is to slow down the traffic and provide for safer crossing at these intersections for pedestrians,” stated Precinct 1 Commissioner Terry Cook.
