12/12/2025 - NOTICE: Water meter changes are coming, no action necessary

Dear Brushy Creek MUD residents,

You might have noticed some activity happening in your neighborhood over the weekends or after hours. We have an exciting project underway. This is an important upgrade taking place throughout the District.

Over the next several months, the Brushy Creek MUD is installing antennas on all District water meters.

This work will initiate our Advanced Metering Infrastructure (AMI) system. This improvement will greatly increase efficiency, accuracy, and convenience regarding utility services.

Why We’re Installing Meter Antennas:

To ensure reliable and timely water usage data, our crew members are installing small antennas on all residential and commercial water meters. These antennas help improve communication between your meter and our AMI network, allowing for:

  • More consistent meter readings
  • Faster detection of leaks and unusual water usage
  • Reduced need for on-site meter reading visits

What You Can Expect:

District personnel will need brief access to the meter box located on your property. All staff will carry proper identification and will not need to enter your home. The installation process is quick and will not interrupt your water service. Your property will be left in the same condition as it was found.

You do not need to do anything to prepare for this installation.  If you have questions or concerns, please reach out to us at (512) 255-7871, option 1. Thank you for your support as we continue to enhance our water service infrastructure and maintain The Brushy Creek Life.
